Art serves the artist
When starting out in any art form, it is easy to get excited and lost in the glamour of it. Fame, praise, applause.
But upon further examination, is this really valuable? What does fame give you? What does anyone's applause give you?
Surely it feels good that other people are inspired by you and respect you. But does this good feeling last? Is it permanent? If it is temporary then that creates a constant chase for that feeling.
